Sebastián Valencia Muñoz
Pereira (Colombia), 1987. Estudiante de maestría en Estética y Creación de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira. Comunicador social de la Universidad Javeriana. Participó en el 14° Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires. Ha sido docente en la Universidad Central, el Instituto Metropolitano de Medellín y la Escuela Nacional de Cine. Trabajó como 2do Asistente de dirección en la película LA PIEL EN PRIMAVERA de Yennifer Uribe Alzate y como director de fotografía del largometraje documental LA ESPERA (Gabriel Posada, en postproducción), HOMBRES SOLOS (Francisco Schmitt, 2014) y el cortometraje de ficción LOS ASESINOS (Rodrigo Dimaté, 2013). Ha escrito, producido y dirigido los cortometrajes MAÑANA PIENSA EN MÍ (2006), LA TRANSEÚNTE (2007), UN DÍA VOLVERÁS (2013), MONTAÑAS (2019), EL REMANSO (2020), ZARZAL (2022) y EL FULGOR (2026). Sus cortometrajes han sido premiados en festivales como Las Palmas Gran canarias, Al este, Linz, Cine a la calle, Sanfici y FICDEH. Y han sido seleccionados festivales como Biarritz, BAFICI, Busan, FICCI, Curta Kinoforum, Palm Springs y Hong Kong. Actualmente desarrolla el largometraje “Las heridas son nidos de flores” con su productora Valmoz Cine.

Participated in the 14th Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires. He has taught at the Central University, the Metropolitan Institute of Medellín, and the National Film School. He worked as second assistant director on the film LA PIEL EN PRIMAVERA by Yennifer Uribe Alzate and as director of photography on the feature-length documentary LA ESPERA (Gabriel Posada, in post-production), HOMBRES SOLOS (Francisco Schmitt, 2014), and the short fiction film LOS ASESINOS (Rodrigo Dimaté, 2013). He has written, produced, and directed the short films MAÑANA PIENSA EN MÍ (2006), LA TRANSEÚNTE (2007), UN DÍA VOLVERÁS (2013), MONTAÑAS (2019), EL REMANSO (2020), ZARZAL (2022) and EL FULGOR (2026). He is currently developing the feature film Las heridas son nidos de flores with his production company Valmoz Cine.
